Business keen to further increase presence in USA and Europe

Mather & Co are proud to be ‘experience makers’ – from visitor attractions to exhibitions and museums, the company creates designs that stand out from the crowd and connects with audiences.

Working across heritage, sports and entertainment industries, the 15-strong team is able to crossover ideas from different sectors, bringing in themes and trends from various projects to give clients results that are second to none.

Having already built up a strong international clientele, the company was keen to increase its exporting revenue so, in 2017 they approached the Department for International Trade for support.

The pandemic had meant that Mather & Co had to scale back some of its exporting activity but is now looking to step this up with the help of the Department for International Trade.

Sarah Clarke, Managing Director at Mather & Co, said: “Pre-Covid-19, we worked with international brands and our progress in exporting was steady, having built up a strong roster of customers overseas.

“However, when the pandemic hit, growing this side of the business became untenable and less of priority as we focused our efforts on weathering the effects of Covid and maintaining our level of work here in the UK.

“As we began to move back to normality though, we wanted to step up our exporting activity and look at how we could massively increase our presence in territories such as the US and Europe”.

“We’re working with the Department for International Trade to identify how we push forward in this area, through various workshop sessions and one-to-one meetings.

“Ultimately, we want to move into new sectors and partner with companies on the ground in different countries so that we can create a robust network of prospects.

“The Department for International Trade team are currently working with us to signpost us to relevant groups and make introductions to key individuals who can help achieve this goal.

“In addition, we’re also attending more trade and networking events, both in the UK and overseas, helping to establish relationships and forge links with potential partners.

“We’ve found that working with the Department for International Trade has opened up a range of opportunities for us so far and we’re looking forward to seeing how we are able to grow our exports.”
